The Kent Chamber of Commerce will host its first Career Fair from 9 to 11:10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18 at Meridian Middle School, 23400 120th Ave. S.E., in Kent.

Kent Mayor Suzette Cooke will be one of several speakers at a Kent Chamber of Commerce career fair Oct. 18 at Meridian Middle School.

The Kent Chamber of Commerce will host its first Career Fair from 9 to 11:10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18 at Meridian Middle School, 23400 120th Ave. S.E., in Kent.

The event is sponsored by the Boeing Company.

The morning will kick off with an assembly at Meridian Middle School at 9 a.m. There will be 650 students in the assembly who will hear from Boeing executives, chamber executive director Andrea Keikkala and Kent Mayor Suzette Cooke about the importance of education and career development.

They will then break out into three, 30-minute presentations given by 26 career fields. The students are in the process of choosing their careers from the list of businesses that are participating.
