A total of 159 homes were sold in Kent in March

Kent home sales were up 40.7 percent in March compared to the same month in 2014. Prices were up 12.2 percent.

In addition, a third (32 percent) of homes sold were bought by buyers who paid in all cash, according to a report by Redfin, a Seattle-based real estate company.

The data is from March only and reflects an unvarnished timely snapshot of the market.

The numbers in March compared to March 2014:

• Prices up 12.2 percent

• Median price $275,000, including $306,000 for single-family; $169,500 for condos and townhomes

• 159 homes sold

• Homes spent a median 33 days on the market, 4 days faster than the same month last year

• Sales up 40.7 percent
