Port commissioner to speak at Kent Chamber of Commerce luncheon

The Kent Chamber of Commerce has scheduled its May membership luncheon for 11:30 a.m. May 5 at the Meridian Valley Country Club, 24830 136th Ave. S.E. Speaking at the event will be Seattle Port Commissioner Bill Bryant.

The Kent Chamber of Commerce has scheduled its May membership luncheon for 11:30 a.m. May 5 at the Meridian Valley Country Club, 24830 136th Ave. S.E. Speaking at the event will be Seattle Port Commissioner Bill Bryant. Bryant is the founder of a Seattle-based company that went on to become Bryant Christie, Inc. BCI helps companies eliminate foreign-trade barriers and develop international markets.

Bryant also has been involved with trade issues nationally, being called upon by Republican and Democrat administrations and the United States Export Import Bank to advise on national trade policies.

Cost to attend is $12 for a soup-and-salad lunch, or $20 for a full lunch. Register by going to the chamber of commerce Web site at www.kentchamber.com.
