Pirtek, a growing company that specializes in manufacturing, repairing and replacing hydraulic hoses, hosted a customer appreciation event at its Kent repair shop last Friday.

Representatives from several local construction and manufacturing companies, factories and other crews were treated to lunch, demonstrations, pictures with visiting Sea Gals cheerleaders and a drawing for Seahawks tickets.

The event drew more than 200 people from different industries.

“It’s all about thanking our customers … and to have lunch on us,” said Erin Gilliam, who co-owns the business, now in its eighth year, with her husband, Gabe. “Our business has picked up and our economy has been really improving. That makes a difference.”
