Demoralized world we live in

We live in a selfish world. But I also acknowledge up front the very many who are not.

We live in a selfish world. But I also acknowledge up front the very many who are not.

We see selfishness in the way some drive. They exceed the speed limit and tailgate others. They turn out in front of others or take that right lane, knowing they will end after the intersection just to get ahead of all the other cars in the queue.

There are those who think that they are entitled to free college or health care at the expense of others. In fact, they demand it. Somehow it’s a right. The non-selfish people would be glad to share, but when it is demanded of them or enforced upon them by the government it grinds upon the principle of charity.

Abortion is another evidence of selfishness. It is called a woman’s right to choose. The choice was made when the woman chose to have unprotected sex. Pregnancy is the consequence. Abortion is the coverup.

For those who know their Bible, King David had an adulterous affair with Bathsheba resulting in a pregnancy. To cover his misdeed he put Bathsheba’s husband in a situation where he knew he would be killed. Now, instead of one wrong, he committed two wrongs.

I know I’m moralizing, but maybe we need a little moralizing in this increasingly demoralized world. As the water boils, so does the frog.
