It is time to seriously consider retiring Dave Reichert from his position in the U.S. House of Representatives.
In the 8th District, it is a race between Reichert and Jason Ritchie for a spot in the House. While the political gridlock continues in our nation’s capital, the everyday operations of our country are being neglected, specifically by partisan congressman like Reichert.
Reichert’s vote to shutdown the government ended up unnecessarily costing tax payers $24 billion. He has not sponsored one piece of legislation that has been passed into law, and is on the opposite side of his constituents for almost every issue.
Reichert claims to serve the district, and yet continuously votes against the district’s beliefs and rights. He voted against the bill that supported wage equality for women, he voted to cut food stamps for our most vulnerable citizens, he voted for warrantless wiretapping on our fellow citizens, he voted against immigration reform that aimed to keep families together, and he voted to cheat workers out of overtime pay with no guarantee of paid vacation days, and the list can go on and on.
It’s time to stop waiting for the “perfect bill” and give the district what it needs now.
