Lingerie venue selling sex

“There has been no negative feedback so far to having women in lingerie playing football at the Sho-Ware Center.” (Kent Reporter front page lead story March 14, 2009.)

Let me be the first!! I strongly object to “women in lingerie” in ANY public venue. Underwear, by definition, should be worn under your outerwear.

I love watching football, and would be interested in male or female football games. But be honest.

The only reason for women to play football in lingerie is to sell the sport with sex. And that’s understood by all when the fans are predominantly males 20-40, per your article.

C’mon City Council, mayor, Kent business owners – is this the image we want for our city? What’s the point of the upscaling of downtown with Kent Station, if we are going to sponsor sleazy entertainment next door?

And NO thanks to Kent Reporter for the big underwear picture on the front page – color too – you went all out. I would LOVE to use the newspaper to teach kids at school, but can’t do it with all the lingerie and ED ads.

You take yourself out of the education picture. How about some NEWS?
