I won’t be voting for Best Starts for Kids, and here is why:
So our mayor and City Council are finally asking for our opinion on a city issue to ban safe and sane fireworks and send citizens to the reservation to buy unsafe and insane fireworks.
I read with interest the articles supporting the sale and use of fireworks – both legal and those purchased on tribal land.
Let's educate ourselves about OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) and its treatment.
On the November ballot, Kent residents will have the opportunity to cast their vote on the use of fireworks in the city.

I am a father of a sixth-grader who is attending Excel Public Charter School.
It is appalling the ruling against charter schools was made three weeks into the school year.

No Regional Fire Authority (RFA) fire impact fees. Period.
Kanye West got up at the VMA awards show and launched into a pity-fueled diatribe of criticism about why his favorite black artists didn't get awards.
In response to Ray Still's column: Ray and many others would have us believe that if we do something with love and sincerity that it is acceptable to God, in particular homosexual marriage.
I totally agree with that piece, "Marriage, belief and change" (Paul Still, Our Corner column, Auburn Reporter, Aug. 14).
Please leave the cannabis stores and users alone ("City plans to shut down medical marijuana shops," Kent Reporter Aug. 7).
