The Breath of Aire choir will perform a benefit concert for Cullen Steele of Kent at 7:30 p.m. April 1 at Kent Nazarene Church, 930 E. James St.

The 75-member choir that draws singers from across the state, performs a range of music from patriotic, Americana, country, and show tunes to classical, gospel, contemporary inspirational, and spirituals.

Steele, 11, a fifth-grader at Auburn’s Holy Family Catholic School, needs a heart and double lung transplant as he fights pulmonary atrial hypertension, a serious disease of the arteries connecting the lungs to the heart.

The community has raised $55,000 for the Steele family through the Children’s Organ Transplant Association. More donations are needed to reach the goal of $75,000 for transplant-related expenses for the family.

The concert is free but donations will be collected to go to The Children’s Organ Transplant Association.

For more information about the concert, go to www.breathofaire.org or call Kent Nazarene at 253-854-6300.
