Concerts at Kent Station start July 7

Take a break and listen to the Soulful Sounds of Summer free concerts that kick off July 7-8 at the Kent Station shopping mall.

Pianist Scott Cossu, who plays a mix of jazz and classical music, performs from noon to 1 p.m. on July 7. Cossu has a background in jazz and rhythm and blues, but also has studied ethnic music from Sudan, Thailand, China, Romania and Ecuador.

The Brass & Blues band plays from 6-8 p.m. July 8. The band features drums and a tuba as its rhythm section along with a trumpet, flugelhorn, and trombone.

The concerts continue at noon Tuesday and 6 p.m. Wednesday through Aug. 26. For more information, go to www.kentstation.com and click on events.
