Children dressed as firefighters, Colonel Sanders, Spider-man and numerous other people and characters showed up with their families at the Haunted Boo-Levard at the Kent Station shopping center.

Wind and rain caused some tough conditions initially before the rain stopped and the trick-or-treaters made their way Sunday, Oct. 24 to the partcipating shops. Children were able to stop outside shops to get candy from the businesses.

People also decorated vehicles for a trunk-or-treat event, which went from about 3 to 6 p.m. Kent Station and the city of Kent Parks and Recreation Department put on the Haunted Boo-Levard.

“Despite the crazy weather we had a great time at the Haunted Boo-Levard at Kent Station (Sunday),” according to a city of Kent tweet. “So many cool costumes and families having fun while kids filled their bags with treats.”

Kent Station staff summarized the event.

“What a day,” according to a Kent Station tweet. “We were all set up and ready to go then the skies opened up. It was chaotic for a hot minute and we figured the event was over. But then the rain left as quickly as it had arrived and the families also arrived and we ended up having a wonderful event! So many darling children in amazing costumes. Woweee.”
