Mayor Dana Ralph describes it ‘as an amazing example of the beauty that is Kent’

Kent Mayor Dana Ralph had a simple yet strong description of the 17th annual Kent International Festival on Saturday, May 31 at the accesso ShoWare Center.

“Kent International Festival is such an amazing example of the beauty that is Kent,” Ralph said in a Facebook post. “Cultures from all over the world coming together to celebrate and share.”

Ralph also thanked the organizers.

“I am so grateful for Nancy and Dave Skipton and the KIF committee for sharing this event with our city for 17 years,” Ralph said.

Festival organizers also shared how successful the festival turned out.

“Our 17th annual Kent International Festival 2025 was a vibrant celebration of culture, community and connection,” according to a festival Facebook post. “A heartfelt thank you to all of our amazing vendors, talented performers, generous sponsors, dedicated volunteers, and of course, every one of our wonderful guests who came out to support and celebrate with us.”

The support of the city of Kent and the city-owned ShoWare Center helped make the free festival a hit.

“Your partnership means the world to us and to the entire community,” according to organizers.

The event celebrated the cultural wealth of the city with music, on-stage performances, local ethnic food trucks and a host of information and merchant booths.

“From dynamic performances to cultural showcases and educational experiences, the day was truly unforgettable,” according to organizers.
