Kent Valley Ice Centre to reopen Jan. 11 under new state guidelines

Public skating to be offered

The Kent Valley Ice Centre, 6015 S. 240th St., will reopen on Monday, Jan. 11 under the new Healthy Washington guidelines released by Gov. Jay Inslee.

Under the current 2-phase plan, certain activities will be dependent upon the metric assessment that will be conducted every Friday and any changes will be effective the following Mondays, according to the Valley Ice Centre website.

Customers can find out additional details on applicable restrictions when booking activities on the Kent Valley Ice Centre’s website as each product description will elaborate on any differences between the two phases.

Activities include public skating, stick and pucks, learn to skate classes, freestyle sessions and private ice rental.

For example, limited access public ice skating sessions are available for all ages under Phase 1 of the new Healthy Washington reopening plan, but tickets must be booked online in advance. Once a sessions capacity is reached, no additional tickets will be sold.

Due to COVID-19, anyone entering the facility must wear a mask and comply with the latest Healthy Washington guidelines. Social distancing is required at all times. All sessions are 1 hour and 15 minutes, which allows for 15 minutes at the beginning and end of each session for customers to get ready/pack up. Cost is $18.18 for admission plus a skate rental of $5.
