Kent-based Allegro Performing Arts Academy will present its 30th annual showcase performance June 21-22 at the Auburn Performing Arts Center, 702 Fourth St. NE.
Allegro opened its doors January 1996 and in just under five months its students took the stage for the academy’s first annual showcase.
This year’s theme, “Allegro’s Greatest Hits,” is a tribute to some of its most beloved pieces from the past 29 years, according to a June 3 press release. These fan favorites will be honored and reimagined, bringing a mix of nostalgia and fresh energy to the stage.
Thirty showcases is a milestone that means so much to the Allegro team.
“It represents thousands of students, countless hours of choreography, and immeasurable moments of growth, joy, and inspiration through dance, drama, musical theater, and tumbling,” according to the press release. “We’re proud of how the performing arts have touched so many lives—and we can’t wait to celebrate with you.”
The community is invited to attend one of the four shows. Allegro put out a special invite to its alumni and former families.
Showtimes are 2 and 6 p.m. Saturday, June 21; and 2 and 6 p.m. Sunday, June 22. Tickets are $20 to $25.
