The Issaquah downtown area comes alive May 2 with the Downtown Issaquah Association’s semi-annual Wine & ArtWalk.
Enjoy wine tastings, live music and meet local artists. Explore all there is to see and do in the historic district.
“What makes our Wine & ArtWalk different is that we open the doors to our businesses for the experience,” says Corby Casler, the association’s executive director. “We’re one of only a few who bring the wineries into shops and spaces people might not know yet. You can taste great wine and discover the historical gems in our downtown.”
Each participating business hosts a winery and an artist, creating a walking tour of art and wine.
More than 15 wineries from across Washington state will pour their latest vintages, which you can sip while meeting winemakers and watching live demonstrations by painters, glassblowers and musicians – all woven into the historic architecture of the downtown area.

“Everything we do is about supporting our small businesses and celebrating our history. We want people to experience Issaquah, not just pass through it.”
A family-friendly event
While tastings are for guests 21 and older, street-side art activities, live music and interactive installations will entertain the kids. “Kids can’t drink wine, but they can see glassblowing or watch an artist at work. It becomes a Friday night where everyone learns something and has fun together,” Casler adds.
Flower basket program
Adding to the spring celebration is the association’s annual flower basket program. In May, more than 100 flower baskets, each weighing nearly 100 pounds will be hung throughout downtown, adorning lamp posts and storefronts with colorful blooms maintained by volunteers through to October.
Right now, the community can sponsor a basket in honor of a loved one, with proceeds going directly into beautifying downtown. “Instead of sending flowers, people can dedicate a basket that stays up all summer. It’s a way of making our downtown gorgeous while honoring someone special,” Casler says.
“Our spring events are an invitation to experience our downtown and immerse yourself in our culture and charm. You’ll leave having tasted something new and seen Issaquah in full bloom.”
