Kent Police assisted Bellevue Police in arresting four males at a Kent apartment complex wanted for investigation of armed robbery at a Bellevue marijuana dispensary.
Police arrested the four at about 1 a.m. Tuesday, June 6 at an apartment complex in the 23400 block of 91st Avenue South, according to a Bellevue Police statement.
The four reportedly robbed a marijuana dispensary at gunpoint at about 11 p.m. Monday, June 5 in the 3000 block of 156th Avenue SE in Bellevue. The employees reported the four males, armed with handguns, entered the store and stole cash registers and product, according to police.
The four fled the scene in multiple vehicles. Police were able to track them because trackers were attached to the money.
Officers tracked the four to the Kent apartment complex. Investigators identified one of the suspect’s vehicles and saw loose cash and product around the vehicle, according to police.
With assistance from Kent Police, officers surrounded the building where the trackers were located. Two males ran out of the back of the apartment complex and were arrested by waiting officers. The other two males surrendered at the front door of an apartment.
“This is outstanding work by both our officers and Kent Police to work quickly to arrest these armed and dangerous suspects,” said Bellevue Police Maj. Dave Sanabria. “The technology also played a significant role in allowing us to follow the suspects safely and ultimately get them into custody.”
Two men, ages 22 and 18, were booked into the King County jail. Two 17-year-old males were booked into the
Patricia H. Clark Children and Family Justice Center in Seattle.
The two men listed hometowns as Seattle and SeaTac while the two juveniles have Renton addresses, according to an email from Bellevue Police spokesperson Meeghan Black.
“At this point, I do not know their relationship to the Kent address,” Black said.
Detectives took over the case to serve search warrants at the apartment and the vehicles.
Officers recovered two stolen vehicles and seized a gun, according to Kent Police.
