Protests against the Trump administration hit the streets and overpasses of Kent, Auburn and Covington on Labor Day.

Indivisible Covington WA organized the SR 18 protest the afternoon of Sept. 1 while Indivisible Auburn WA set up the SR 167 protest.

Almost 200 people showed up along SE 272nd Street in Covington for a Workers over Billionaires rally as they lined the street with signs, according to Indivisible Covington. It was the same site the group has had previous rallies, including a No Kings protest on June 14.

The protests were part of rallies across the state and the nation.

“We’re over it—and we’re taking it to the overpass,” according to an Indivisible Auburn social media post to advance the event. “Join Indivisible Auburn WA on Labor Day as we stand together against the kidnapping, corruption, gaslighting and the destruction of democracy.”

Banners along SR 167 read “Defend Democracy,” and “Stop the Corruption.” Signs at the Covington rally included “Loyal to Constitution not the President,” and “Beware Military Police State.”
