A new apartment complex under construction in Kent continues to change the landscape along the south side of West Meeker Street, just west of 64th Avenue South.

Crews are building a 308-unit complex of three, four-story buildings on the southwest corner of West Meeker Street and 64th Avenue South. Seattle-based Goodman Real Estate is the developer.

The buildings will have ground floor live/work units with large glass store-front type entries to encourage work-at-home occupations. The site was vacant land before the city of Kent approved the project.

Crews also continue to work on the Ethos Apartments along West Meeker Street and across from the Riverbend Golf Complex. The nearly 500 apartments are going up on the former Riverbend par 3 golf course.

Construction began in spring 2018 and the first phase of 288 apartments and 6,000 square feet of retail is expected to be completed in early 2020. Units are available for rent as they are completed throughout the construction period.

Rents at Ethos range from $1,995 to $2,185 for two bedrooms and from $2,235 to $2,495 for three bedrooms, according to apartments.com.
