Blotter: Man unzips another man’s pants, threatens to rip police officer’s larynx out

A 39-year-old man reportedly tried to start fights and even unzipped another man’s pants during an incident at about 10 p.m. Oct. 1 at a Kent bar in the 15400 block of Southeast 272nd Street.

Officers arrested the man outside of the bar for investigation of provoking assault, according to the police report.

Bar employees told officers they asked the man to leave the bar after he unzipped another man’s pants and yelled threats at other customers.

When police arrived at the bar, they saw the man yelling in the face of another man outside of the bar and daring for the man to fight him.

Before police transferred the man to jail, he threatened multiple times to rip out the larynx of the officers.

Assault

When a woman opened a car door and screamed for help at about 10:15 p.m. Oct. 3 at a Kent store parking lot in the 10200 block of Southeast 240th Street, a 49-year-old man didn’t hesitate to help. He pinned her alleged attacker on the ground until police arrived at the scene.

Kent Police arrested a 21-year-old man for investigation of fourth-degree assault for allegedly punching or slapping his 21-year-old girlfriend in the face when the two were in the car. The 49-year-old man held the younger man on the ground until officers arrived, according to the police report.

The older man told police he started to put groceries in his vehicle when he saw a man and a woman struggling in a nearby car. The woman opened the driver’s door and screamed for help.

The boyfriend initially ran away, but returned to the car for his hat and cell phone. When the boyfriend tried to leave the vehicle again, the older man bear hugged him to the ground and held him until police arrived.

The girlfriend told police she had been dating her boyfriend for about seven weeks. She said he started to argue with her about her ex-boyfriend and then struck her in the face with his hand. Police noted in the report that the woman had a cut lip.

The boyfriend told officers his girlfriend had stolen drugs and money from him. He said the argument in the car started when she tried to take money from his wallet. The boyfriend denied to police that he struck his girlfriend.

Assault

A girlfriend reportedly became upset when she saw her boyfriend looking at text messages on his cell phone and then slapped or punched him in the face at about 8:30 a.m. Oct. 3 at an apartment in the 14900 block of Southeast 272nd Street.

Officers arrested the 53-year-old woman for investigation of fourth-degree assault, according to the police report.

A 41-year-old man told police he was checking text messages on his phone and that his girlfriend became upset because she thought he was texting another woman. He said a struggle started when his girlfriend tried to grab the phone, and she struck him in the face with her hand.

Officers noted in the report that the man had a cut lip.

The boyfriend told officers he had just recently gotten back together with his girlfriend after breaking up for a couple of weeks because of trust issues. The boyfriend called 911 to report the incident.

Theft

Police arrested an 18-year-woman for investigation of third-degree theft at about 3:50 p.m. Oct. 1 at a clothing store in the 25400 block of 104th Avenue Southeast.

Store security reportedly saw the woman take two pairs of pants and a shirt and place them in her purse without any attempt to pay for the items, according to the police report.

Store security turned over a video of the incident to police.
