Assault
A heavy truck load and a forgotten delivery invoice reportedly led to a domestic dispute between a husband and wife truck-driving team at 6:17 a.m. June 9 near a Kent warehouse in the 22800 block of 54th Avenue South.
Kent Police arrested the woman for investigation of fourth-degree assault after she reportedly kicked her husband in the ribs as he drove the semi-truck through town to make a delivery at a warehouse.
The husband told police his wife became upset because he had forgotten a delivery invoice and because she had received an earlier ticket from the state for too heavy of a load.
Officers noted the man had several red marks near his ribs. The man asked employees at the warehouse to call 911 as he drove into the parking lot.
Witnesses said after the couple stepped out of the truck, the woman followed the man in the parking lot and yelled at him. The woman told police her husband had used his elbow to hit her in the stomach.
Drugs
Kent Police arrested a man for investigation of marijuana possession and possessing drug paraphernalia after they pulled him over at 10:28 p.m. June 13 near Central Avenue North and East James Street.
Police initially stopped the car after a license-plate check revealed a failure to transfer a vehicle title within 45 days of sale.
When the officer walked up to car and the driver rolled down the window, the officer said he could smell marijuana.
The officer asked the man where the marijuana was, and the man pulled out a plastic bag with leafy material.
Police also cited the man for driving without a valid license and for having no proof of vehicle-liability insurance.
