Closures on I-5 in SeaTac for Federal Way Link construction

Crews working on the Federal Way Link Extension will be closing lanes on southbound Interstate 5 from milepost 150.8 to milepost 149.8 in SeaTac to set concrete barriers and build an access road for future light rail construction.

The night time closures will take place on June 9 to 11, June 17 and 18 and June 22 and 23.

Tuesday, June 9 through Thursday, June 11, crews will close the two right lanes of southbound I-5 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. On Wednesday, June 17 and Thursday, June 18 crews will close one right lane of southbound I-5 from 8 p.m. to 10 a.m. On Monday, June 22 and Tuesday, June 23 crews will again close two lanes of southbound 1-5 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

All project construction work is done under stringent COVID-19 health and safety guidelines, according to Sound Transit.

The Federal Way Link Extension from SeaTac through Kent to Federal Way will open for service in 2024. For more information on the Federal Way Link Extension and to sign up for project updates, visit soundtransit.org/fwlink.
