Divers find stolen vehicle in Kent’s Lake Fenwick

SUV reported stolen in 2018

A diving drill by Renton firefighters in Kent’s Lake Fenwick turned up a stolen vehicle dumped in the water.

Divers from Renton and Valley Regional Fire assisted Kent Police and Pete’s Towing with removing the vehicle from the lake’s bottom, according to a Puget Sound Fire tweet on Tuesday, Feb. 9.

A small oil sheen was contained with booms and reported to the state Department of Ecology. Kent Police noted that the car had been reported stolen in 2018.

Lake Fenwick, 25828 Lake Fenwick Road, sits south of State Route 516, north of South 272nd Street, west of Highway 167 and east of Interstate 5.
