For the Reporter

Kent Station hosts an afternoon of furry fun dedicated to pets, owners and animal lovers alike on Saturday, Aug. 6.

Dog Daze and Feline Fantasies runs from noon to 4 p.m. Hundreds of adoptable cats and dogs will be on site with Regional Animal Services of King County and PetSmart Charities in partnership with animal shelters and rescue organizations.

If you are looking for a new best friend or an addition to your family, stop by along Ramsay Way and in the plaza. Also enjoy pet-friendly happy hour patios at several restaurants around Kent Station, check out pet-centered vendors and purchase or renew pet licenses.

Dogs and cats need to be licensed in order to participate, so purchase yours in advance at KentPetLicense.com or buy one at the event.

All pets in Kent, whether outdoor or indoor, are required by law to be licensed. With the funds raised from pet licenses, Kent partners with Regional Animal Services of King County to conduct animal cruelty investigations, operate animal shelters, provide resources to address vicious animal complaints and care for injured or lost animals.

Last year, nearly 5,000 animals were taken into King County’s custody. With dozens of licensing locations across King County and most annual licenses costing only $30, it’s easy to do the right thing for your pet and your community.

Dog Daze and Feline Fantasies is organized by the City of Kent, Kent Station, Regional Animal Services of King County, Puyallup Animal Rescue and PetSmart Charities.
