Firefighters put out Kent mobile home fire

No one was hurt Tuesday morning after a mobile home caught fire in the 800 block of the West Valley Highway in Kent.

Firefighters from Puget Sound Fire were dispatched at 11:50 a.m., and found a single-wide mobile home with smoke coming from several sides, according to a Puget Sound Fire media release.

Because there were vehicles parked in front of the home and no one coming outside, firefighters quickly entered due to the possibility of a trapped victim. Fortunately, no one was inside. Two dogs were rescued.

Firefighters contained the fire to the kitchen area, but there was smoke and heat damage throughout the home.

Unattended cooking caused the fire, according to investigators.

In addition to Puget Sound Fire (formerly Kent Regional Fire Authority), units from South King Fire and Rescue and King County Medic One also responded to the incident.
