Gov. Gregoire’s car sideswiped near Des Moines on I-5

Earlier this afternoon the Gov. Chris Gregoire's official vehicle was sideswiped by another vehicle while she was returning from an event in the Seattle area. The Governor was not injured nor was the other driver.

Gov. Chris Gregoire's car was involved in an accident on Interstate 5 near state Route 516 in Des Moines at 2 p.m.

Earlier this afternoon the Gov. Chris Gregoire’s official vehicle was sideswiped by another vehicle while she was returning from an event in the Seattle area.

The Governor was not injured nor was the other driver.

The collision occurred on Interstate 5 near state Route 516 in Des Moines, at approximately 2 pm.

As always, the Governor was accompanied by a security detail from the state patrol. Other troopers responded to the scene for the collision investigation and the governor has returned to Olympia.

The governor is transported in a variety of vehicles, today she was traveling in a Suburban.
