A 22-year-old Kent man suffered injuries when his bicycle collided with a car at about 1:19 p.m. Monday near the McDonald’s restaurant on West Meeker Street in Kent.
The man was riding westbound on the sidewalk in the 1200 block of West Meeker Street when he collided with a car pulling out of the restaurant driveway, according to an email from Kent Police Lt. Pat Lowery.
The bicyclist was knocked over and sustained injuries, Lowery said. Paramedics transported the man to Valley Medical Center in Renton for treatment. No update was available about the man’s specific injuries or his condition in the hospital.
At the time of the accident, the man also had a dog with him. The dog ran away after the collision, but police officers later found the dog and took it to the Kent Animal Shelter.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
