Kent City Council candidates forum coming up Oct. 16

The Kiwanis Club of Kent will present a City Council candidates forum from noon to 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 16 at the Kent Commons, 525 Fourth Ave. N.

The Kiwanis Club of Kent will present a City Council candidates forum from noon to 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 16 at the Kent Commons, 525 Fourth Ave. N.

The forum is open to the public. Candidates Tina Budell, Hira Singh Bhullar, Brenda Fincher and Toni Troutner are scheduled to attend.

Candidates will take questions from the audience and have two minutes to answer.

In addition, a voter participation campaign event is set for Saturday, Oct. 24, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Kent Commons. The Kent Black Action Commission is hosting the get-out-the-vote campaign, an open forum to discuss pressing political issues in the community.

Cake and ice cream will be provided.
