Kent man, 56, dies in two-vehicle crash March 28 in Kent

Police arrest woman for investigation of vehicular homicide; collision at 94th Ave. S./S. 240th St.

A 56-year-old Kent man died in a two-vehicle crash Friday night, March 28 at the intersection of 94th Avenue South and South 240th Street in Kent.

The man’s vehicle collided with a vehicle driven by a Kent woman in her 30s, according to a March 29 Kent Police statement. The woman reportedly displayed signs of being intoxicated, according to police. Officers arrested the woman for investigation of vehicular homicide.

A 41-year-old Kent woman, a passenger in the vehicle driven by the Kent man, sustained serious injuries, according to police. Paramedics transported her to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Officers responded at about 9:44 p.m. to a report about the collision. Officers arrived and discovered bystanders who were attempting to open the door of the vehicle with the male driver trapped inside, according to police.

Officers were able to get the man out and attempted lifesaving medical aid until medics arrived to take over. The man died at the scene. The King County Medical Examiner’s Office has not yet released the man’s name.

The chain of events leading up to the crash were not immediately clear, according to police. Kent Police traffic investigators will work on the case.
