A 47-year-old Kent man was charged Jan. 15 with first-degree rape and first-degree kidnapping of a 14-year-old Federal Way girl.

Christopher N. Thomson, of Kent, also known as Christopher Thompson, came in contact with the teen at a time when she was soliciting for prostitution in the parking lot of a Federal Way business. According to charging documents, the girl agreed to provide Thomson with oral sex, but refused to get into his vehicle. Thomson then physically forced the teen into his van and took her to a motel.

From Jan. 9 to Jan. 12, Thomson took the teen to five different hotels, threatening her with a gun, forcing her to smoke methamphetamines and forcing her give oral sex and have intercourse with him, according to the documents.

While at one motel Jan. 12, Thomson left the teen alone. She contacted her father and then called 911. She gave a description of Thomson’s brown van and reported the kidnapping, rape and nude photos of her taken by Thomson.

Thomson was contacted by Milton Police Department during a traffic stop. He confirmed that he was staying at the same motel the victim reported being located at. He also told police he was there with his daughter, according to documents.

Thomson was taken into custody and the teen was recovered by Federal Way police, who interviewed her and transported her to a hospital for a sexual assault examination. A search warrant was conducted at the motel.

Thomson is being held in jail. His bail is set at $1 million. His arraignment is scheduled for Jan. 25 at the Norm Maleng Regional Justice Center in Kent.
