Kent man moons apartment manager during dispute | Police Blotter

Kent Police arrested a man for investigation of lewd conduct after he reportedly mooned an apartment manager.

Officers responded to a report about a man who pulled his pants down on March 4 at the Birch Creek Apartments, 12805 S.E. 275th St., according to the police report. A witness said the man walked away from the complex carrying Safeway bags with clothes that still had the price tags. He left walking toward the nearby Safeway.

An officer saw the man who matched the description sitting in front of the Safeway. He had a bag with two new Seahawks jerseys, including one with a price tag of $51.99. He told police a friend gave him the jerseys.

When officers checked with witnesses at the apartment complex, they were told the man had been seen looking in apartment windows. The apartment manager showed up to investigate and saw the man smoking marijuana. She asked him to stop smoking marijuana or she would call the police. He reportedly turned around, pulled his pants down and exposed his buttocks.

When police tried to talk to the man about what he had been up to, he began to rant that he was the boss of the Kent jail and that he was with the FBI. Officers noticed the man appeared to have large items in his jacket pockets. They searched him and found a hammer and a rock about the size of a softball. Police checked with Safeway to see if it had videotape of the man taking jerseys from the store but employees were not able to find any evidence.

Man grabs girlfriend by neck

Officers arrested a man for investigation of fourth-degree assault after he allegedly grabbed his girlfriend by the neck and hit her in the face during a dispute while walking near the 500 block of East Smith Street at about 3:32 p.m. on March 4.

The girlfriend told officers they were arguing about money. She said the man is the father of her unborn child, according to the police report.

Witnesses saw the boyfriend yelling and cursing at the woman and pushing his hands into her face. The boyfriend denied he grabbed his girlfriend or hit her. Officers noted the woman had a small scratch above her eye. She also said her contacts had been knocked out during the dispute.

Wife scratches husband

Police arrested a woman for investigation of fourth-degree assault after she reportedly scratched her husband all over his body during a physical domestic dispute at about 12:22 a.m. on March 5 at a house in the 13200 block of S.E. 252nd St.

The husband said they had been having relationship problems and his wife previously had moved out because she was supposedly having an affair, according to the police report.

The husband had returned home after a trip out of town. They were in bed watching different TV shows on their phones when the husband asked his wife to put her phone down and talk to him. He said her pushed her phone away. The wife responded by digging her fingernails into his hands and then scratched him on his arms, chest, throat and shoulder.

The wife told police her husband wanted to have sex with her. She said she would if her wore a condom because supposedly he had a previous affair. She said he declined to wear a condom and tried to force himself on her so she defended herself. The husband denied he tried to have sex with his wife.

Man takes flowers, Gatorade

Officers cited a man for investigation of third-degree theft after he reportedly took flowers, Gatorade and other items loaded in a cart on March 4 from Safeway, 13101 S.E. Kent Kangley Road.

Witnesses saw the man leave the store and get into a white Mitsubishi Galant. A witness also saw the car’s license plate number, according to the police report.

Police tracked down the vehicle along 110th Avenue Southeast, where it was parked in a small parking area. They also located the man who took the items, which were valued at about $175.
