A woman reportedly spit in the face of a Fred Meyer store employee after she had been asked to leave because the store was closing at about 11 p.m. April 28 on the West Hill.
Officers arrested the woman for investigation of fourth-degree assault at the store, 25250 Pacific Highway S., according to the police report.
The employee asked customers to leave the store because it was closing time when the woman became irate and began to cuss and scream at the employee, who was able to close the doors behind the woman.
The woman then threw rocks at the glass sliding door, but did not cause any damage. She told the employee she left her iPad inside the store. The employee retrieved the phone for her when she again screamed at him and then spit at him. A large chunk of spit landed on his right shoulder, which an officer photographed because the employee wanted to press charges.
The woman also became irate with officers. She admitted to spitting at the man but wouldn’t tell the officers whether she spit at his face.
Obstructing
Police arrested a woman for investigation of obstructing an officer and possession of drug paraphernalia after an officer on patrol spotted a red Honda Accord traveling at about 3:27 p.m. April 29 near South 260th Street and Pacific Highway South.
The officer ran the license plate and found out the car had been impounded the day before by Renton Police for a driver arrest, according to the police report.
The officer activated the overhead lights on the patrol car and pulled the vehicle over in the Rite Aid parking lot, 26200 Pacific Highway S. He cited the woman driver for not having proper insurance or registration. Two women passengers also were in the car.
Dispatch then reported that the car had been used during a shop lifting April 28 at a Renton Rite Aid. The officer returned to the vehicle and saw a woman passenger trying to swallow something. The officer placed a hand on the woman’s throat because it appeared she was trying to hurt herself or destroy evidence of a crime.
The woman admitted she swallowed eight Percocet, a prescription drug that contains Oxycodone, a controlled substance.
Officers also found a burnt straw in the woman’s possession. She said she used the straw for smoking pills. The woman also had theft warrants out of Renton and Tukwila.
Assault
Officers arrested a man for investigation of fourth-degree assault after he allegedly punched his wife in the face during a dispute at about 2:27 p.m. April 28 at a house in the 700 block of Bridges Avenue South.
Officers noticed that the woman had a fresh red mark on her face, according to the police report.
The husband told police that they argued because his wife wanted to leave the house and he wanted her to stay and cook the kids some food. He said they pushed each other but he denied punching his wife. He said she threw cups at him.
Malicious mischief
Police arrested a woman for investigation of malicious mischief after she reportedly broke the passenger side wing window of her former boyfriend’s pickup at about 12:52 p.m. April 30 in the 27300 block of 144th Avenue Southeast.
The two had dated for about six years and the woman asked the man to help move her vehicle so she could sell it, according to the police report.
The woman yelled at the man to give her belongings back to her and said she would smash his truck window if he didn’t give her stuff back. She then broke the window with a hammer she grabbed from a toolbox on the truck.
The former boyfriend said he didn’t know what belongings she was talking about. The woman claimed she was homeless and the man had her stuff in his truck.
Boat theft
A man reported the theft of a boat and trailer at about 6 p.m. April 30 in the 20400 block of 120th Avenue Southeast.
The man said the boat and trailer had been parked in front of his residence at about 10 p.m. on April 29 but then was gone the next day with just two pieces of cut padlock remaining, according to the police report.
Thieves had reportedly cut the padlock to take the boat, which included a 75 HP Mercury outboard motor.
