Kent Police are seeking the public’s help to solve a shooting June 12 along 104th Avenue SE near SE 236th Street that injured an 8-year-old Auburn boy.
“He was with his mother, a toddler, and a baby in their vehicle at the time he was shot,” according to a Kent Police statement. “He is still in the hospital, but thankfully is recovering from his wounds.”
Officers responded to the call and found the boy shot while seated in the vehicle. He received medical treatment at the scene before paramedics transported him to a hospital.
The incident began at 108th Avenue SE and SE 240th Street at about 5:39 p.m. A vehicle followed the vehicle of the boy’s mother northbound on 108th Avenue SE, then westbound on SE 236th Street to 104th Avenue SE, according to police. The suspect vehicle was last seen fleeing from the area of SE 236th Street and 104th Avenue SE after the shooting.
Kent Police are asking that anyone who saw, or knows anything about this incident, to please contact the department. Detectives said they are interested in all tips, including any photos or videos taken of the activity that occurred near SE 236th Street and 104th Avenue SE.
Kent Police did not release the gender or age of the shooting victim in its initial statement June 12 about the incident.
