Kent Police are seeking the public’s help to identify a man who reportedly tried to lure girls to his car.

The incident occurred at about 4:45 p.m. Sept. 27 when two groups of girls were walking in the area of 120th Avenue Southeast and Southeast 236th Street, just east of Meridian Middle School, according to an Oct. 1 Kent Police media release.

Both groups were approached by a black passenger car. In each case the car stopped alongside the girls. In one incident the driver rolled down his window and called to the girls, trying to gain their attention.

The girls did not respond to the man, at which point he drove away. Moments later the man contacted the second group of girls. This time he stopped his car in the roadway, exited and called to the girls as he grabbed his crotch. The group of girls ran away.

Upon reaching the school, the girls immediately reported the incident to school staff, who contacted Kent Police.

Investigators have obtained a forensic sketch of the suspect from the victims in this incident, and need help from the community to identify the suspect.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Kent Police tip line at 253-856-5808.
