A Kent woman apparently decided everything must go when she threw her live-in boyfriend’s clothes out of the house and onto the driveway, lawn and stairway.
When officers arrived at about 11 p.m. on Sept. 2 at the home in the 11300 block of Southeast 264th Place, the woman told them she wanted the man out of the house, according to the police report.
The boyfriend called 911 because the woman also allegedly punched him in the face. He told police his girlfriend became upset because he unblocked his phone to send his ex-wife the address of the home so she could come pick up his son.
The two have dated for about 18 months and live together. The girlfriend told officers she became upset with her boyfriend, removed his clothing from the closet and threw the items out of the house. The couple started to physically struggle and the girlfriend said her fist accidentally hit her boyfriend in the face when she pulled out of his grasp.
Officers noted that the man had a slight cut on his lip from the punch. Officers arrested the woman for investigation of fourth-degree assault for punching the man.
Minor caught with beer
Police cited a woman for investigation of being a minor in possession of alcohol after they reportedly saw her drinking a bottle of Corona outside of a vehicle on Sept. 3 at a parking lot in the 18000 block of East Valley Highway.
Officers were on late-night patrol in north Kent looking for street racers who often meet at the corner of South 180th Street and the East Valley Highway before picking a spot in the industrial area of the city to drag race.
Police spotted a woman drinking a beer and standing outside of a car parked at the Cathay Bank, which was closed and had a no trespassing sign posted in the lot, according to the police report. Officers described the beer bottle as half full. The woman jumped inside the car when she saw the officers.
Officers told the woman she was under arrest for drinking in public. When police determined she was under age 21, officers cited her for minor in possession.
Driver goes 81 mph in 40 mph zone
Officers cited a man for reckless driving after he allegedly drove 81 mph in a 40 mph zone at about 8:20 a.m. on Sept. 3 near the 11400 block of Southeast 274th Way.
A motorcycle patrol officer said he was checking speeds of vehicles going eastbound and westbound along Southeast 274th Way when his speed device showed a Honda Accord going eastbound at 81 mph, according to the police report.
The officer pulled the car over just down the road. The driver told police he was in a 50 mph zone not a 40 mph zone.
Man punches girlfriend in leg
Police arrested a man for investigation of fourth-degree assault after he reportedly punched his girlfriend in the leg, pulled her hair and slapped her head during a dispute on Sept. 4 at the Washington Park Apartments, 11020 SE Kent Kangley Road.
The woman told officers her boyfriend became upset because he said she closed the bathroom door too hard and she told him it wasn’t that big of a deal, according to the police report.
When the woman tried to walk away, the boyfriend allegedly punched her in the leg and pulled her hair. The woman exited the apartment and the boyfriend followed her outside, where he reportedly threw a rock at the woman but missed. The woman threw a rock back at her boyfriend, but she also missed.
The boyfriend initially told police they argued about laundry duties and denied he punched her. A short time later, he admitted to police he was upset at her for slamming the door and that he punched her. He said he didn’t tell the truth at first because he was scared.
Women caught in vacant home
Officers arrested two young women for investigation of first-degree criminal trespass after they reportedly stayed overnight in a vacant home on Sept. 5 in the 700 block of Fourth Avenue North.
The homeowner called 911 because he said transients broke into his house, according to the police report. Because of prior incidents at the house, police have a trespass agreement with the owner.
Officers arrived at the house and found two women, ages 18 and 19, behind the residence. One woman said they were inside the home but jumped out a back window when they heard someone at the front door.
Both women admitted to police they had entered the home to stay overnight.
