King County Sheriff’s Office confiscates over $1 million worth of deadly fentanyl during drug bust

With help from a search dog, officers found 97,000 fentanyl pills and eight pounds of heroin.

Last Friday Oct. 1, officers from the King County Sheriff’s Office arrested three suspects for conspiracy to deliver narcotics and other felonies after finding more than $1 million worth of fentanyl and heroin.

KCSO spokesperson Tim Meyer said the arrests came after a search warrant was fulfilled in Southwest King County.

A search dog, named Fury, was used to find over 97,000 fentanyl pills with an estimated street value of $1,066,120, eight pounds of heroin and over $47,000 in cash in their vehicle.

Meyer said the case is still under investigation.

Rates of Fentanyl deaths have been on an alarming upward trend in recent years, as leaders in the county push to curb the use of the opioid, which is believed to be 50 to 100 more potent than heroin.
