Kent Police arrested a 34-year-old man for investigation of fourth-degree assault and third-degree malicious mischief after he allegedly punched his girlfriend as well as kicked and dented her 2000 Mercedes Benz 230 after a dispute at a Kent bar.

Officers responded to a 911 call that reported a fight at about 1:49 a.m. Dec. 4 at the Gonzo’s bar parking lot, 15423 S.E. 272nd St., according to the police report.

A 29-year-old woman told officers that her boyfriend had punched her and kicked her car multiple times. Police noticed that the car had dents and two clear shoe prints.

Officers found the boyfriend near the bar entrance. They brought the man over to the Mercedes and had him lift his shoe to see if it matched the print on the car. The match reportedly was identical to the prints on the car.

The girlfriend told police she has dated the man for three years and they now live together. She said she became upset at her boyfriend inside the bar when he told her he was off to the rest room but she spotted him talking to a waitress.

When the woman told her boyfriend she was upset and was going to hang out with her girlfriends, the boyfriend reportedly became angry and shoved the woman to the floor.

The boyfriend then left the bar and the girlfriend left shortly later. She found the man next to her car that had been kicked. They began to argue and the man reportedly punched her in the face before she ran inside the bar and asked the owner to call 911.

The boyfriend declined to talk to police about the incident.
