The orchestra camp on Aug. 4-8 runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily at Maple Valley Presbyterian Church, 22659 Sweeney Road SE.

Students in fourth grade and up with one year or more playing experience on a stringed, woodwind, brass or percussion instrument are welcome. The theme is Super Hero music. Students will study music from “The Avengers,” “Superman Returns,” “The Incredibles” and more. There will be a concert on the last evening of camp at 7 p.m. The public is welcome to attend.

The Special Needs Music Camp on Aug. 11-15 runs from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. daily at Taylor Creek Church, 21110 244th Ave. SE, Maple Valley. The camp was created by MVYSO’s music and recreation therapists with the cognitive and physical needs of special needs students in mind. Second-graders and up are welcome. No musical experience is required.

Each camp is $75 for the week, and each student receives a camp shirt.
