A 56-year-old Seattle man struck and killed by a vehicle on the West Hill in Kent has been identified as Bruce Jerome Brooks.
Brooks died from multiple blunt force injuries in the Feb. 26 collision at 24426 Pacific Highway South, according to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office, which ruled the death an accident.
Brooks reportedly stepped into the northbound lanes of Pacific Highway South at about 8:22 p.m. Feb. 26, according to Kent Police.
Emergency responders found Brooks still in the roadway. He died at the scene, according to police. Witnesses told officers that they had seen the man step into the northbound lanes.
Initial information gathered at the scene suggests that intoxicants were not a factor, according to police. The driver of the vehicle, a 19-year-old woman, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
