For the Reporter

The Washington State Department of Transportation hosts a neighborhood open house on Thursday, Dec. 10 to provide information about the latest plans for the recently-funded I-405/SR 167 Interchange Direct Connector project that is slated to begin construction in spring of 2016.

The open house is from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Talbot Hill Elementary cafeteria, 2300 Talbot Road S., Renton.

WSDOT plans to build a new flyover ramp connecting the SR 167 HOT lanes to the carpool lanes on I-405 in Renton.

The new ramp will improve traffic flow and safety at this critical interchange. Traffic analyses show that this project will decrease the hours of delay people experience and reduce weaving at the interchange.

The meeting location is accessible by public transit. No formal presentation will be provided. Attendees are welcome to come and go during the two-hour event.

Accommodation requests for people with disabilities can be made by contacting the WSDOT Diversity/ADA Affairs team at wsdotada@wsdot.wa.gov or by calling toll-free, 855-362-4ADA (4232). Persons who are deaf or hard of hearing may make a request by calling the Washington State Relay at 711.
