The Washington State Department of Transportation will be closing a section of Northbound I-5 through Kent this week to do removal and replacement work on the roadway.
Crews will be repairing the bridge over South 259th Place in the evenings this week. WSDOT crews will remove damaged pavement, apply a waterproofing seal and repave the overpass.
Because of the construction, four of the five lanes through the area, located at approximately milepost 147.6, nightly from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Work is expected to be completed this week.
