A person was killed when a car went off the road and crashed into a tree early Thursday morning, May 12, in an unincorporated part of King County just south of the city of Kent.

Puget Sound Fire and the King County Sheriff’s Office responded at about 3:19 a.m. to a crash along the East Valley Highway, aka 83rd Avenue South, near South 277th Street, according to a Sheriff’s Office spokesperson.

“It was reported that the vehicle went down an embankment,” according to an email from the spokesperson. “Deputies found someone deceased.”
