Police chase ends with crash, arrest

Pursuit spanned multiple jurisdictions in King County and ended in the Auburn area

A high-speed police pursuit that began Tuesday afternoon in Seattle and continued through Tukwila, Federal Way and Kent ended in Auburn with an arrest of a man who stole a green Chevy truck, according to authorities.

King County Sheriff’s Office Air support team exercised a successful PIT maneuver to corner the driver, ending the 30-minute chase at South 277th Street and 57th Avenue South in Auburn.

According to Seattle Police, officers spotted the truck around 1:15 p.m. and tried to stop the driver, but he sped off, leading police on a long chase through Seattle and South King Country. The driver hit several vehicles along the way.

The driver was booked into King County Jail on charges of auto theft and hit-and-run.

Police officers from Seattle, Tukwila, Auburn, Federal Way, and the King County Sheriff’s Office assisted in pursuing and apprehending the driver.
