The Puget Sound Blood Center has scheduled a blood drive from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday Aug. 16 at First Christian Church of Kent in the Eckfeldt Hall, 11717 SE 240th Street, Kent.
In summer the blood center experiences a 20 percent decline in blood collections due to high schools being closed and vacations. The center also experience a 20 percent increase in the demand for blood because people are more active and there are more accidents.
Less supply, more demand means the blood center needs help and support.
Walk-in donors are welcome.
