For the Reporter

A packed audience enjoyed choral music performed by more than 100 local youth during the Rainier Youth Choirs’ March 15 concert.

The eclectic event also featured two RYC singers who won their Green River Region solo contests. Lindsey Paveltich (alto) and Julia Wenndt (soprano), members of the Kentridge High School choral program, each performed the solos they will compete with during the WIAA/WMEA State Solo Contest in April.

The next Rainier Youth Choirs concert, Out of the Blue, is 2 p.m. May 31. The final RYC 2014-15 Imagine season concert will be performed at Kent United Methodist Church, 11010 SE 248th St., Kent.

Concert space is limited. Businesses and community members can also help RYC cover costs for concert sheet music by sponsoring a song for $50. Song sponsors will be listed in the concert program.

A nonprofit, community-based program with no religious affiliation, Rainier Youth Choirs offers chorus levels for singers in grades two through fourteen. Auditions to join RYC are available throughout the season by appointment.

For more information about concert tickets, sponsoring a song and auditions, visit rainieryouthchoirs.org.
