Recycling Collection Event set for Saturday, March 9 in Kent

The city of Kent’s annual spring Recycling Collection Event is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, at Hogan Park, 24400 Russell Road.

The event allows residents to dispose of recyclable items that are not normally accepted at the curb. Instead of going to the landfill as trash, all items collected will be reused or recycled.

Accepted items include: scrap metal; propane tanks; appliances – refrigerators, freezers, AC units; mattresses; bulky yard debris; batteries; tires; Styrofoam; electronics (no TVs or monitors – visit e-cycle Washington for more details); cardboard; reusable household goods and clothing; porcelain – toilets and sinks.

See the city flyer for full details at kentwa.gov/home/showdocument?id=11834

This program is only for household materials from King County residents and is funded by: City of Kent Public Works Department, King County Solid Waste Division, the Local Hazardous Waste Management Program in King County and Washington State Department of Ecology.
