Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission serves up Christmas meals

The Union Gospel Mission will be open Christmas Day to serve those who have no family or friends to share this special holiday.

The Union Gospel Mission will be open Christmas Day to serve those who have no family or friends to share this special holiday.

Throughout the day, volunteers and Mission employees will serve approximately 2,100 meals.

The Mission believes that providing a basic need — like a meal — helps open the door to the promise of a future that has been all but lost. A meal can offer a pathway to restoration and hope, for one homeless or hungry person at a time.

The Mission’s goal is to serve 250,000 meals to people in need by Dec. 31, as part of the sixth annual One Meal/One Hope Fight Hunger with Hope Campaign.

MEN’S SHELTER CHRISTMAS MEAL SCHEDULE:
318 2nd Ave. Ext. South, Seattle
7 a.m. – Breakfast begins
5 p.m. – Traditional dinner served to anyone walking through our doors

EMERGENCY FAMILY SHELTER MEAL SCHEDULE:
314 Bell St., Seattle
4:30 p.m. – Dinner for homeless women & children (in partnership with Mary’s Place)

PHINNEY RIDGE EMERGENCY WINTER SHELTER CHRISTMAS EVE MEAL SCHEDULE:
Emmanuel Bible Church, 503 North 50th St., Seattle
6:30 p.m. – Christmas dinner for homeless men

LAKE CITY EMERGENCY WINTER SHELTER MEAL SCHEDULE:
St. George’s Episcopal, 2212 NE 125th St., Seattle
7 p.m. – Christmas dinner for homeless men & women

KENTHOPE DAY CENTER MEAL SCHEDULE:
9009 Canyon Drive, Kent
5 p.m. – Christmas dinner for homeless women & children
