Sound Transit has postponed its planned overnight closure of Pacific Highway South in Kent for construction work Nov. 19-20 between State Route 516 and South 240th Street.

Sound Transit had planned to close the highway to accommodate ongoing roadway restoration, repaving and utility installation, but sent out notice Nov. 15 that the project has been postponed. The agency said dry weather is needed for the project. Rain is in the forecast.

The closures were planned from 2 to 6 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 19, and from 1 to 5 a.m. Monday, Nov. 20.

Sound Transit is extending the light rail line from Angle Lake in SeaTac to Federal Way. Service is scheduled to begin in 2026.
