Six Kent officers respond to call about man with gun, knife; report turns out false | Police Blotter

Six Kent Police officers responded to a 911 call from a woman who claimed her brother had a gun and held a knife to her throat.

But officers later arrested the woman for investigation of making false statements to a public servant after she admitted to making up the story trying to teach her brother a lesson after they fought while watching television, according to the police report.

The incident happened April 10 at a home in the 12500 block of Southeast 230th Street.

Police initially detained the brother before determining they could not figure out an aggressor between him and his sister. Another sister also told officers that it was lie that her brother had a gun or held a knife to her sister’s throat.

The brother declined to talk to officers about the incident.

Prostitution

Officers arrested a woman for investigation of prostitution after she allegedly agreed to meet an undercover officer for sex at about 7:30 p.m. April 7 at a hotel in the 1200 block of Central Avenue North.

The detective had applied to an advertisement on backpage.com that listed a woman described as “Ready and willing” as well as “Smokin’ hot brunette,” according to the police report.

The detective recognized the photos of the woman in the ad as someone he had contacted in July of 2011 along Pacific Highway South on Kent’s West Hill. The woman admitted then to working as a prostitute on the street and through backpage.com.

After the detective called the phone number connected to the ad, the officer and woman started to exchange text messages in order to set up to meet at the woman’s hotel room for sex.

Police checked with hotel employees who confirmed the room number of the woman after seeing her photos. The detective went to the door with another officer and texted the woman that they were outside and she was under arrest.

The woman answered the door wearing a fishnet outfit and wrapped in a towel. Officers had her put on additional clothing before taking her to jail.

The woman told officers she had tried getting a “normal” job but couldn’t do it.

Assault

Police arrested a man for investigation of fourth-degree assault after he reportedly hit and kicked his girlfriend during a dispute April 8 outside of an apartment in the 25700 block of 27th Place South.

The two had dated for more than a year and lived together at the apartment, according to the police report. The girlfriend said she had been kicked twice in the hip by her boyfriend.

A witness called 911 to report a man kicking a woman along the sidewalk in front of the apartment. The boyfriend told police they fought because his girlfriend cheated on him. He said she had cheated on him in California as well so they moved up here for a new start and she cheated on him again.

Malicious mischief

Officers arrested a man for third-degree malicious mischief and reckless endangerment after he allegedly sliced a brake line in the vehicle of his roommate April 11 in the 600 block of First Avenue South.

Two witnesses heard the man admit to slashing the brake line because he didn’t like his roommate, according to the police report.

The man denied making the comments or cutting the brake line. An officer looked at the vehicle and saw the brake line had been cut. The roommate drove just a short distance before checking the vehicle’s brake line to see if what he had heard about the cut line was true.

Suspicious subject

Police arrested a woman for a theft warrant out of Federal Way after they found her as a passenger in a suspicious vehicle spotted at about 10:12 p.m. April 7 in the 2400 block of South 248th Street.

An officer noticed a vehicle accelerate out of an apartment complex parking lot and pulled the vehicle over for expired registration and suspicious activity in an area known for high drug and prostitution activity, according to the police report.

The driver told officers he was just taking the woman to a friend’s house in Kent from Federal Way. Police transported the woman to Federal Way and turned her over to the Federal Way Police.
