Snow likely to start falling Thursday night in Kent with more the next two days

No large amounts predicted each day but could total an estimated 5 inches or more

Snow is most likely to fall in Kent after 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, according to the National Weather Service.

Just more than an inch is predicted to fall through Thursday night. An east wind also will kick up from 13 to 17 mph Thursday night with gusts to 24 mph.

Another inch or so of snow could fall on Friday and 1 or 2 more inches on Saturday. That could be a total of 4 or more inches over a few days with temperatures staying in the 30s for highs and 20s for lows until warming up to the 40s on Sunday.

Here is the breakdown, as of Wednesday morning, according to the National Weather Service:

• Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 42. Light north wind increasing to 5 to 9 mph in the afternoon.

• Wednesday night: A 20 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 28. Northeast wind around 6 mph.

• Thursday: Snow likely, mainly after 4 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 35. Wind chill values between 23 and 28. East wind 11 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

• Thursday night: Snow likely, mainly before 10 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 24. East wind 13 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

• Friday: A 40 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 34. East wind around 11 mph. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

• Friday night: A 40 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 25. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible.

• Saturday: A 50 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 36. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

• Saturday night: A chance of snow, mainly before 10pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 28.

• Sunday: A slight chance of snow before 10 a.m., then a chance of rain and snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 40.

• Sunday night: Rain and snow likely, mainly after 10pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 33.

• Monday (Washington’s birthday): Rain likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 43.

• Monday night: Rain likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 36.

• Tuesday: A chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 45.
