State Rep. Pat Sullivan, D-Covington, announced Tuesday that he will seek re-election to the State House of Representatives.

Sullivan will officially kick off his campaign from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, May 30 at the Showare Center in Kent.

“It is an honor to represent the 47th District in Olympia,” Sullivan said in a media release. “We have accomplished a great deal over the past several years but there is important work still to be done. In particular, I want to continue to focus on education reform and job creation.”

Sullivan has represented the 47th District, Position 2, for eight years. He was selected to serve as House Majority Leader two years ago and continues to serve in that role. He also serves as a member of the budget-writing Ways and Means Committee.

“I have worked hard during my terms in the state House of Representatives,” Sullivan said. “This is a great community and I am grateful to have an opportunity to be involved with such great people.”

The kick-off event is open to everyone.
